2010 Racing Season

We had a fantastic racing season in 2009 and we’re looking forward to more fun in 2010.  The season begins Friday, May 28th and runs through Monday, Sept. 6th.  We will have 60 days of live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing, including the 52nd running of the All American Futurity.

Legislative Relief for the Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Casino (RDRC)

The Ruidoso Jockey Club’s Board of Directors monitored legislative proposals during the New Mexico legislative sessions in the spring. While proposed parity bills failed to pass, a new law was enacted offering Lincoln County a local option (with an election required by the voters) to minimally raise the gross receipts tax to provide economic incentives for the racetrack. We’re confident the horses will be running every summer in Ruidoso Downs for unlimited years to come.

Updated and Improved Menu

We hope that you will be excited to find that our food menus have been revised and improved. Of course some of the all time favorites are still on there along with some new choices!

Jewelry!

Cathy Eastham will be showing her fine jewelry in the Board Room. A list of dates is on our homepage.

Memberships for Lease or Sale

Don’t forget that there are memberships that are available for lease or sale.

Members, remember that if you lease your seats you relinquish your club privileges for the season such as free daily admission, admission to the parties, parking stickers, etc.  Also, if you lease your membership, please notify the office as soon as possible with the lessee’s information. Your dues must be paid in full before the club will release privileges to the lessee.

If you wish to place your seats on the for-sale or lease list, or need a copy of the for-sale or lease list call us at (575) 378-4446 or email us at jockeyclubmembers@gmail.com.  A link to a map of seats for sale or lease can be found on the homepage.

Labor Day Reservations

For the Labor Day weekend, we are asking members to only reserve the number of seats in which they own. In other words, if you own four seats you may only reserve four extra for the weekend.  Extra seats are $20.00 per seat/per day.

Public tickets are also available for $300 for admission for one person for the whole weekend by contacting the office and asking for Rebecca or Kristen.  Limited  public tickets are available.

The Ruidoso Jockey Club Lloyd L. Davis, Jr. Scholarship

As many of you know we awarded our third Annual scholarship this past August, to dining room bartender Christopher Wolfe. This year’s scholarship will be awarded at the Annual Stockholder’s meeting in August. The Board feels that this is a great way to assist the fine young men and women that are employed at the Club to achieve their educational goals

A final note

Please remember to hold on to your member tickets (gold cards), these tickets are good from season to season.  If you have misplaced your tickets please let us know so that we can order new ones.

Please take a moment to introduce yourself to the new employees, so that they may better serve your needs as a member. Also, when charging to your house account or checking in at the front door, please give the employee the membership name that is listed on your stock certificate, not your nameplate.  The computer system only recognizes the names listed on the stock certificates.
